Barcelona 2017

Asking a guy to take his photo while he was working..

I was at a Restaurant / Bar Called “Pork” in Barcelona (July 2017). I had My Canon EOS 6D with the Canon EF-50mm f/1.4 attached, the whole thing was telling me there will be something good other than the food tonight.

I asked the guy behind the bar to take his photo, he hesitated but I told him that I will delete the photo if he decides not to agree after he sees the result. I took 2 photos, and edited them using my mobile phone.

I gave him the phone and asked him to type his e-mail. He returned the mobile with a smile and I sent him these wonderful portraits of him doing his job preparing food for strangers like me.

I had to choose the camera settings in a dark place, and needed to decide about focus point and depth of field. I shot in RAW and had stood there looking at the original photo on the screen. I couldn’t wait, I had to see the result on a bigger screen.
All I wanted is to capture some motion, and some lights and shadows. The whole scene was inviting a beginner photographer like me to learn and to try to get the best.

I was satisfied from the results, and from the food.. But the main thing is that the guy was satisfied from my work.. I was Honored.
